Next week looks to be the week we receive the Frostgrave rulebook! This has been an exciting one since it was announced, especially considering our local group played a lot of Mordheim when it was released. We occasionally go back to Mordheim, and it's great, but it's not the same since GW decided to mothball it. Have you figured out this week's theme yet?
Frostgrave looks like a fresh take on it, and there's a lot of buzz and excitement for it. Hopefully we can get Brendan to post some pictures of the amazing terrain he's been busy building for it.
In honor of the upcoming release, I'll post a figure a day for the warband I'm taking into the ruins of Felstad. Let's start with an archer; he's from Foundry's viking range. Granted, I haven't seen the rules so I don't really have a handle on warband composition aside from Internet rumors, but hey, worst case I got another model painted!

Sage Advice
With all the silliness out there right now surrounding GW's dismissal of Warhammer Fantasy, it's more appealing than ever to go back to the good ol' days of older editions. A few of us have been flipping through the 3rd edition Warhammer Fantasy rulebook to refresh ourselves on how we used to play games with actual armies! I'm looking at you, Mind Razor.
Anyway, this little gem of wargaming wisdom from Rick Priestly jumped out at me as a reminder that Warhammer is every bit about storytelling and imagination as it is about tactics and game mechanics. That's what made it fun for me all those years ago and that's why I'm excited to go back to it.

I'll Take Schwords for $400,Alex
More work on the Galwegian Highlanders for Infinity last night. This is the model collection from the previous Highlanders box, plus Mr. Connery. These guys have been sitting unloved in a half-painted state for way too long, so I decided to just power through. There's a little more to do tonight, but they look a lot healthier than they did before a couple hours of painting.

Infinity Highlander
Last night's project was one of Corvus Belli's new Galwegian Highllanders for Infinity. This is from a box of resculpts that are all based on actors, in this case Christopher Lambert. I wanted to get him done up quickly so he'd be ready for a game Thursday night; this is about two hours of work, including the tartan. CB made a Sean Connery fig to go with it, which I'm looking forward to doing next. That'll put me in a good spot to have a half dozen Galwegians led by William Wallace before the new USAriadna boxed set shows up and I have to figure out how to paint a flippin' motorcycle.

Army for Chatterton's Hill
Warlord provide some great scenarios in their Rebellion! book, one of which is Chatterton's Hill (pp.70). It's appealing for a few reasons, not the least of which is that both sides can use a similar collection of models to also fight Bemis Heights. Hessians everywhere!
This is the first AWI scenario for each of us, so economy of use for all the fresh new figures we're painting is a big deal. Keep that in mind if you're a card carrying member of the Wargames Fashion Police; these units' uniform colors may not meet OCD standards and I'm more than OK with that!
Here is the army, broken down by section, C-in-C Spencer, and the forces of McDougall and Douglas.

Rebel Militia
Decent progress today on a TON of militia for the Chatterton Hill scenario. It requires 2 large units and 1 small unit of militia. Baccus does a nice job of mixing up the hat styles in their militia packs to give the opportunity for the militia to look a little more rag tag than the continental troops.
